About
Hi, my name is Jeffrey HaoZe Yuan. I am from Princeton, New Jersey, and I study Cognitive Science, Psychology, and Buddhist Studies at the University of California, Berkeley. My current research aims to understand why humans are deluded, why they suffer, and how our modern society only contributes to our continued problems. I have compiled all my ideas in my course called Self, Suffering, Modern Society, and the Meaning of Life.
My interests ultimately have stemmed from psychoanalytical observations on people and society around me. In the past, I have spent 3 months solo traveling Asia in attempt to challenge my preconceived notions of values and what we deem to be important in our lives. In the future, I plan to experience different forms of life, so I will need places to stay.
In regards to human happiness, I firmly believe human connection is, after health, the main requisite for a satisfying and happy life; and I believe that the best catalyst at achieving human connection is food. In attempt to explore the realm of food and connection, I have cooked for most of my life, am obsessed about Chinese food, and previously opened a pop-up fine dining Sichuanese restaurant in my apartment with a 8-course tasting menu.
I am currently still studying and working on my course with occasional YouTube videos or blogs.
